CP Car Cruise Grand Finale |
Carleton Place Car Cruise Nights Supporting CPDMH Foundation since 2011 "After having run numerous car shows in both Carleton Place and Almonte since 2003, I decided to branch out to weekly cruise nights", shares CP Car Cruise organizer, Jeff Shoots. "Wanting to have a secure place for the car gang to meet and to support a great charity, Carleton Place Cruise Nights was born." Since 2011, Jeff and his dedicated crew of volunteers have raised OVER $32,000.00 in support of the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation. Every Wednesday evening, Jeff and his crew get ready to receive classic car enthusiasts. "I chose the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital Foundation (CPDMH) to be the recipient of our efforts and it has been a winning combination ever since", exclaims Jeff. "We have formed a great relationship and the Foundation staff have been stellar with support!" After some canvassing and some very generous landowners, the first location was the Rona parking lot which had about a dozen cars or so on their first night. After 2 or 3 years in this location, CP Car Cruise moved to the CP Farmers Market downtown, where they ran cruise nights for the next 4 years. They quickly outgrew this spot and in 2018, they moved to Mitchell's, Your Independent Grocer parking lot which is their current location today. CP Car Cruise Crew worked hard at securing weekly door prizes from local businesses to help support the cause and many stepped up to the plate and have been supporting it ever since. Jeff shares, "family and friends have been a big piece of the puzzle as well with their tireless work unloading/loading the trailer, setting up and manning the ticket tables (some 200+ times over the years)". All of this would not be possible if it weren't for the faithful classic car owners, spectators, and volunteers who come out each week in support of CP Car Cruise Nights hobby as well as their local Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation.
