Celebrating 32 Years of Impact

Celebrating 32 Years of Community Support

Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation

Carleton Place, ON – The Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH) Foundation is proud to celebrate its 32nd anniversary, marking more than three decades of caring, generosity, and community impact.

For 32 years, the Foundation has worked alongside an incredible network of supporters to help ensure high-quality care is available close to home. This milestone is a reflection of a deeply caring community. A community that continues to grow and come together to support patients, families, and healthcare teams when it matters most. As shared by CPDMH Foundation Executive Director, Robyn Arseneau, “this achievement has been made possible by an incredibly generous and extraordinary caring community of supporters.”

Why the Foundation Exists

In Ontario, hospital care is not fully funded by the government. While essential services are supported, patient care equipment, technology, and many building enhancements – like the new Thomas Cavanagh Emergency Department – must be funded through community support.

As the community continues to grow, so too does the demand for care, making the role of the Foundation more important than ever.

This is where the CPDMH Foundation plays a vital role. It is a registered charity with the sole purpose of connecting and inspiring donors with the annual, on-going and infrastructure needs of the hospital.

The Foundation exists to ensure that the hospital has the tools, equipment, and resources needed to provide safe, modern, and compassionate care. From diagnostic imaging machines and patient beds to upgrades that improve comfort and dignity, these essential items are only made possible through donor support.

These critical needs would not be possible without the Foundation and the generosity of the community. Simply put, the Foundation helps bridge the gap between what is funded and what is truly needed. It ensures that patients in our community can receive the best possible care, close to home, surrounded by the people they love.

Celebrating 32 Years

Throughout the years, the Foundation has been strengthened by meaningful partnerships and community-led initiatives that have helped advance its mission. These collaborations, along with the dedication of countless individuals and partnerships, have played an essential role in enhancing healthcare services and supporting the evolving needs of the region.

“For more than 32 years, the CPDMH Foundation has played an essential role in helping our hospital meet the needs of a growing community,” said Brad Harrington, President and CEO of the Mississippi River Health Alliance. “While hospitals in Ontario receive funding for core services, it is community generosity that enables investment in the equipment, technology, and spaces that shape the patient experience. On behalf of the Mississippi River Health Alliance, we extend our sincere thanks to the Foundation, its donors, volunteers, and supporters - your commitment continues to make a meaningful difference in patient care close to home.”

At the heart of this work are the people who make it all possible. The Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to its donors and friend-raisers, whose generosity continues to inspire. Equal appreciation is shared for the many volunteers who give their time and energy, and for both the volunteer board members and staff – both past and present – whose commitment ensures the Foundation’s work moves forward each and every day. “For more than three decades, donor support has helped shape a hospital our community can rely on with confidence and pride,” says Patrick Kenny, Chair, CPDMH Foundation. “We are proud of what we’ve built together, and know that our community of donors will continue to help us grow, innovate, and meet the evolving healthcare needs of our region.”

“The CPDMH Foundation represents the very best of community partnership in healthcare,” said Michel Vermette, Chair of the MRHA Allied Boards of Directors. “For 32 years, donors, volunteers, and supporters have come together with a shared purpose: ensuring their hospital has what it needs to provide safe, high-quality care. On behalf of the Allied Boards, we extend our deep appreciation to the Foundation and to every donor and supporter who has made this work possible.”

As the CPDMH Foundation celebrates this special anniversary, it also looks ahead with excitement. The future holds new opportunities to grow, improve, and continue supporting high-quality care for generations to come.

Together, the community is building healthier futures… one act of generosity at a time.
